Vanadurgi Plantation

Vanadurgi plantations are located in the lush green forests of Western Ghats in Karnataka, near the historic place of Sringeri. There are two plantations located at two different climatic zones - one in the evergreen forests attached to the Kudremukh National Park Animal Sanctuary and the other one in the midst of deciduous forests. The total extent of the well maintained plantations is around 800 acres. At these plantations, agro-research is carried out on new crops which are then commercially introduced to other farmers. The plantations are certified ‘organic’ by Ecocert which was earlier certified by SKAL.

While the main crops grown here are coffee, vanilla, areca nut, pepper, rubber, agarwood, sandalwood and garcinia, short-term crops grown here are patchouli, stevia, turmeric, ginger, cardamom, banana, papaya, pineapple, etc.
