Maize (Zea mays) is an important crop in  Karnataka State which is popularly grown in the districts of Shimoga, Davanagere,Hassan, Chickmagalur, Belgaum ,Bijapur & Dharwar.  Shimoga is the main collection and trading place in Karnataka State from where the material is sent to export and domestic destinations. Vanadurgi has collection centres and also a warehouse in Shimoga which is linked to small rural collection centres. The company has stronghold in this business and supplying material to major buyers. The organic Maize project has certification by both Ecocert and Aditi Organic Certifying agency.
